Connection Test
This app provides operators with a remote and online tool for performing the grid mapping process or the “Connection Test” as it is often called. In summary, this app works as follows:
- User selects in the web app the SDSs near the point where the test is going to be made, i.e. the point where the pulses are going to be injected. Any number of SDSs can be selected;
- User starts the connection test operation mode in the devices of the selected SDSs;
- Operator in the field starts injecting current pulses;
- User receives the test results in the web app: the SDS, feeder and line where the pulses were detected;
- User stops the test by setting back all the selected devices into their normal mode of operation.
Configuration
- Δ Pulse (ms): time interval between pulses (in milliseconds)
- Feeder: the feeder at which the device will try to detect the pulses. If the option “All” is selected, the device will loop through all the feeders, one at a time, until it detects the pulse.
- Line: the line at which the device will try to detect the pulses. If the option “All” is selected, the device will try to detect the feeder in any of the lines.
- Scanning Period (s): the time in (seconds) spent in each feeder line searching for the pulses.
When starting the connection test, the selection table updates the fields “Mode” and “Status” to “Connection Test” (purple colour) and “Warning” (orange colour), respectively, on the selected SDSs. Also, the associated markers on the map change colour to purple.
When the devices finally enter the Connection Test mode, the “Status” field on the selection table changes to ON (green colour).
Results
When the device detects the injected pulses, it sends the following result information to the platform and hence to the web app (app’s Results area):
- Timestamp: the time when the pulse was detected by the device;
- SDS: the SDS where the pulse was detected;
- Feeder: the feeder where the pulse was detected;
- Line: the line where the pulse was detected;
- Observations: The observations information defined when the test was started.
